DESCRIPTION:POSTPONED:  All three of the January 2019
recreational fishing workshops were postponed due to the partial federal
government shutdown. These workshops have been rescheduled for: October 19 in Plymouth, MA; October 22 in Portsmouth, NH; and October 24 in Narragansett, RI.NOAA Fisheries’ Greater Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office (GARFO) is hosting three workshops in New England to collaboratively brainstorm short- and long-term approaches for possible future recreational fisheries management strategies. The findings of these workshops will be summarized and shared with the New England Fishery Management Council, including its Groundfish Committee and Recreational Advisory Panel. The workshops will be held:   January 8,      2019 in Portsmouth, NH;   January 10,      2019 in Narragansett, RI; and   January 12,      2019 in Plymouth, MA.  Recommendations resulting from these workshops will be considered within the current Council process for developing recreational management measures with input from all groundfish stakeholders and the public.For more information, visit purpose, goals, objectives, and registration details.
