WHAT’S HAPPENING: The Northeast Fisheries Science Center will hold a webinar meeting to exchange information with stakeholders on the Atlantic Herring Management Track Assessment and the upcoming peer review of the assessment.
WHEN: Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
WHAT TO EXPECT: During this meeting, the lead assessment scientist for Atlantic herring, Dr. Jon Deroba, will give a short presentation and answer questions about trends in the Atlantic herring data, including abundance and recruitment of herring, as well as information on fisheries effort and catch.
WHAT’S NEXT: The full Atlantic herring stock assessment will be presented during a peer review meeting on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. following introductions. Several other assessments will be reviewed throughout that same week.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS: The stock assessment process and annual schedules are determined by the Northeast Region Coordinating Council.
