Risk Policy Working Group
The Council approved a Risk Policy Statement in November 2014 and accepted the Risk Policy Road Map to implement the policy in June 2016. The Risk Policy Working Group (RPWG), which led this effort, was then disbanded because its work was concluded.
In March 2023, the Risk Policy Working Group was reconstituted to review the Council’s current Risk Policy and develop recommendations for future changes. The new working group is comprised of representatives from the Council’s Scientific and Statistical Committee, the Greater Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office, the Northeast Fisheries Science Center, Council staff, and five Council members.
